Ok, so I bent my axle at some point, only a little, but I know this will eventually wear my axle-carrier bearings out sooner.

So my question is this...what brands of aftermarket swingarms--I mean axles--do you recommend? I am considering getting a 2" wider axle for stability, but are there disadvantages to a wider axle? (I assume it may make turning a little harder)

Any thoughts/suggestions here would be appreciated...

If you bent your axle why are you worried about a swingarm? If your an MX racer the wider axle will help you everywhere. You'll be able to give it more heck and go faster in the curves. If you jump crooked you'll land better.

Go with the wider axle. The only place that a wide axle will hurt is in tight woods. Just a suggestion. Don't go with dura-junk, I mean dura-blue. I snapped one of their axles within two hours of bolting it on, and I am still fighting with them to give me my money back. I would go with the lonestar axle. The have the best reputation.

i agree with the two posts above. the wider axle will help on the mx track, and the only place it will really hurt is in EXTREAMLY tight woods and trails.

go with a lonestar, guarenteed for life. a little more expensive, but better in the long run.

Cool. Thx for the input.
Yeah, I thought I had heard dura-blue was junk.

Now is it just my eyes going bad, or does a Lonestar +2 swingarm actually cost in the $380 range? YIKES!

swingarm? or axel?

I think if you look around enough you can find them (axels) for about like $320.

Check out the DURA-BLUE a good brand for the AXLES and AXLE CARRIERS. Get +2 for the wider, cuz wider is better.

When isnt wider better?

I have a Durablue x-33 and have had no problems. I bought it even though I've read all the negative posts in here about them. My axle has over 1 year of abuse on it and I have had no problems with it.
