Took off 400EX clutch cover-found a renegade spring inside
#1
Like the title says...I took off the right side case cover last night to replace the clutch. As soon as I got the cover off, sitting there below the clutch basket, was a small spring. The spring is the type that I would describe as a "tension" spring without hooks on either end. The spring is about 1/2" long.
1. The quad (my wife's) works perfect. Should I worry?
2. Where does this spring go?
I plan on surfing over to powersportspro.com as they have the entire microfiche online. Maybe this will give me a clue. Any suggestions anyone may have are appreciated.
Thanks

I found a blown up drawing on the internet and discovered that the "renegade" spring was a clutch spring. The spring goes on the shaft that connects the clutch to the clutch cable. I already got the quad back together and everything works ok.
