if i were to put works shocks on a 250ex they would have an inch more of travel on the front and back. my question is would they make the machine sit a lot higher off the ground? has anyone put works shocks on a 250ex?????????

The answer is no. I have Works on my Recon, yes they increase travel a little, and no, it does not raise the ride height much, if at all. I would guess that the Recon and 250 EX shocks from Works are very similar if not identical.

shut up. their a lot better than stock and maybe hje doesn't have the couple thousand it would take to get some top of the line axis shocks. so calm down buddy. anyways get the works their A LOT better than the stock 250ex shocks and since their made to yoru body weight you shouldn't have to worry about getting a stifffer ride or anything. if their too stiff you can adjust em. so i'd say get em

Works shocks are awesome! Especially for the money. You can't even compare them to stockers.

Out of all the thousands I have spent tricking out my 250R, the front Works Trip rates with Rezzies were undoubtedly the best bang for the buck I have done.

Lotusposition

How do you like the works shocks on your Recon? Can you tell much of an improvement? I am thinking of a new machine for my wife and like the price and such but the Recon I used to have rode a little rough. Any help would be appreciated.

BK, I have had the shocks for about a year now. Since my wife rides a basically stock Recon, a comparison is easy for me. The ride is a little better, but it is no Cadillac. The damping of the suspension is quite a bit better, however. Having ridden both bikes back to back, I much prefer the Works. Whether the $500 bucks is justified or not is probably an individual rider thing. Since I'm too old to beat myself and the bike up by jumping the hell out of it, I more than likely don't utilize the shocks to their fullest. $500 on top of the Recon's price could probably get you a discounted Rancher at the right dealer. In my case, since I cannot afford a new bike, improving the old one was my best option.

BTW, my wife absolutely loves her Recon !
