I was wondering if there is any way to put a 250r swingarm, linkage and rear shock onto a 250x frame?

Also, how hard is it to put an 88 or 89 swingarm onto an 86 or 87 250r?

Thanks

I doubt you will get the R rear end to bolt onto a 250X/300EX but a 350X swingarm and rear shock will fit.

The 88/89 R swingarm will bolt right in but you will not have any rear motor mounts for the engine. You could make your own pretty easily though.

actually i think you could get it to work. wrath racing welded a mod on my 86 250r to fit an 87 swing arm and it works great! ask around im sure someone will weld it for you, that is if the frames arent that different, i guess i wouldnt know but it worked for me.

LBZ are you saying you have a 1987 Honda TRX 250r swing arm on your 1986 Honda TRX 250r? 86-87 are the same at the front mounting point.

well im not sure what year the swing arm is, but its definitely different. the guy i bought it from said its an 87 arm, maybe he said wrong year? my swing arm isnt attached to my engine anymore, theres a special bracket welded to the frame that the rear engine mount attaches to. this is my first R ive ever owned too so take it easy on me

I had a basket case 250x come in the shop last month. It had an 86 250R swing arm mounted to an 87 honda 250X frame. the stock shock was mounted. Everything lined up. The person i bought the quad from used it for drag racing. The 250r swing arm and 250x rear shcok made the quad sit alot lower. It will work
