The 300 is a great bike. I think it is the best trail bike out there. The stock power is kind of mellow, but with a few mods you can get the thing going pretty well. But, if you are large, you might want to consider something bigger, like a 400.

The 300 Ex is a good bike but soon you will want to be keeping up with the big boys. So i would recommend getting a 400 EX because it is a little more expensive but its got a lot more power. if you think it has too much power then you can just putt around till you get used to it.

I would recomend the 300ex and NOT the 400ex because if you like your quadsport I dont think you are after being king of the hill like some of the other people have said. The 400ex has no reverse so it's not the best trail machine. I had a 250X and I now have a 250R and I prefer the 250X in the trails over the 250R simply because of the reverse. I am sure some dumby is going to say something like "you dont need reverse unless your lazy" but after a long day of riding the last thing I want to do is push around an almost 400 pound machine. Get the 300ex you'll love it !

Get the 300ex I got one and it is an awesome bike.I also have a moded 250r so I know what a really awesome bike feels like. The 300ex is an excellent machine.Mine has not failed me once or left me walking.I have abused it and it has kept coming back for more.It may not be the fastest thing on the trails but a good rider can make up for that easy.I have beat 2 400ex's on the trails with my little ol 300.Reverse really is a nice feature no matter what anyone says. They are awesome machine's and just do everything great.

im with ugly & killer250r! I have a moded up 1986 250r (15 y/o) and a mildly moded 1995 300ex (axle, pipe, filter, wheels, tires, bars, ect). the 300 is awesome in the woods and with enough experience the 300 will get fast enough for you. the 300ex is the most reliable bike, hondas usualy are! the reverse is a nice feature but theres many steps to engauge the reverse gear! but you'll get used to it! the 300ex was my first fast quad. i had an 80, then 125, then 200, then my 300ex, now a 250r at the age of 14! alot of experience will make you a MUCH faster rider! Plus the 300ex is cheaper ($4800 vs $5500). I bought mine used because hondas last forever (example - 250r). The 300 would be my choice then take that extra $700 and get:

#1. FMF EXHAUST $275
#2. HOLESHOT 20 REAR TIRES $120
#3. REV LIMITER MOD $90
#4. SHOCKWEARS $45
#5. FILTER $35

OR LEAVE IT STOCK AND GET READY TO HAVE SOME FUN! CUZ HONDA IS AWESOME!

I know alot of people with 300's they all love them & don't wish they had a 400.Buy what You like not what other people think You should have.Like what other people have said if You ride awhile & need more power it is easy to get it with a few mods, and you will still have reverse.

Yes, 300EXs are great quads. I rode mine for a long while. I put some mods on it and its pretty stout (comparing to my 250R its not but anyway). If you are a trail rider, like your quadsport, you cant go wrong with the 300EX. It will never leave you walking and its a blast to ride.

I own both a 300ex and a 400ex. Both are great machines. Both are incredibly reliable and fun to ride. I am sure you will be pleased if you decide to go from a Quadsport to one of Honda's sport machines.
