Question about 400EX
#1
I will be switching over to the Honda brand very soon. My question to you is, I want to know if this is a good deal.
2000 400ex w/ 440 kit and WB slip on for 3500
It does need a little TLC - some new bolts and some new bearings, but other than that, it is a sound quad. What do you guys think?

Sounds like a sweet deal to me. I paid $4,300 for a 2000 400ex that was in like new condition. In fact is one in better condition than our 2001 400ex that had about 20 hours on it. The fact that you are getting a 440 kit and WB slip adds to the pot. If it runs well then I would jump on it. Even if it is missing a little, I would do a compression test and take it anyhow. Could be that they just don't know how to rejet the carb.
According to Kelly Blue Book (www.kbb.com) the trade-in value is $3,475 and retail is $5050. Rule of thumb is you would be lucky to get even $.50 on the dollar for aftermarket improvements.
Good Luck!
