I have an 88' 250R and I was told that it has a rev limiter but I just can't seem to find it. I have revved that thing so high I was scared it was going to blow the top-end. Does it have one? if it does is it not working or am I just use to riding low reving four strokes? I would like to know so I dont F it up. Thanks Zeebo



PS if it Doesn't have one can I get one for it so I dont blow my motor?

 

If you get a stock 2 stroke you can find the rev limiter. But you put a couple mods on the thing you can rev it til it blows (like me).

 

It may or may not have a rev-limiter. I have never hit mine on my 86 either, but I know it has one. There are some people who put unlimited rev black boxes in, which I think is pretty dumb, as I have a highly modded motor and have never touched the limiter. Either way, I guarantee you can blow that baby sky high with the stock rev limiter and a pipe.

Well that may have been a dream of yours but here's the reality.
Chet the old man will be sitting on his high horse at the line And I the pimp will be sitting on "THE BEAST" The flag will drop the best will roost all up in your face rocks hitting your little lights busting them off. You will start ahead of me then you will loose second gear , "THE BEAST" will then pass you like a rocket sled on rails. THEN i will circle around you and the raptor will sircome to the victor and run away with it's tail between it's legs with you on it's back crying. that my friend is the reality!

 

my LT had a bunch more mods than your 250r and i wasn't able to beat raptors. don't be too sure of yourself. r's are fast but not that fast (with your mods at least. trust me you can get em blowin by raptors easily)

When racing a raptor, you will most likely lose a drag. BUTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT.......... Ask him to woods/mx/tt race you and the tables will soon turn.
