I agree, definitely the Honda 300ex (And I would say this in the Polaris forum or the Yamaha forum where I keep up with information on my son's and my quad). My other son has a 300ex, and everyone I take riding loves it.

Good luck,
Lorrin

Our Blaster is down for repairs ALL THE TIME, where the 300 has given years of trouble free service. If you want a long term durable machine, then the 300 is the choice. If he is a kid, and just wants an intermediate bike to hold him over a couple years until he can advance to a performance bike, then the Blaster might be ok.

Blaster has that fun 2-stroke powerband, it is very agile, jumps well (it's lighter), does well in the dunes, and is a bit faster in a drag race. The 300 has better suspension, and jumps well, and dunes well. The stock power on the 300 is kind of mild, so you will want to mod it up as much as is practical.

The 300 EX is a great choice. Just make sure it has reverse like the Majove. The Blaster does not have reverse.

Hmmmm, I do agree that Honda's are built to last, but a Mojave will eat a 300EX. That dual cam, liquid cooled and 4 valve head rocks.
