Does anyone have any experience with lowering a 250R. I want to drop it about 2 inches front and back but I don't want to loose and suspension travel. I have an '86 with stock shocks, a-arms and swingarm.

Buy a durablue lowering kit. You only want this kit for running flat track. It doesn't work with mx. For mx you would have to buy after market shocks that have ride hieght adjustment and a-arms. There's a cheap way and a extremely expensive way, your choice.

Dont get a lowering kit, unless you are flat tracking. What you need to keep your suspension travel is ZPS type shocks. These allow the quad to sit lower, but then when you leave the ground, they extend and you still have as much, or more suspension travel. Get soome PEP, TCS, Elka or wahtever else and you will be very very happy. The only bitch is that they cost 850+ bucks just for fronts, and the same for the rear, so they aint cheap.
