Why do guys cut their fenders? I might could see why racers do it... Maybe. But what is the point?

well, some guys think it just looks cool, and do it for that reason alone, just to like like the pros.

Others, such as racers do it for a couple reasons- 1) can see exactly where the front tires are running, 2) less wind resistance, better aerodynamics.

If you've ever ridden an extremely fast quad, you will notice that at high speeds, the front fenders will tend to lift the front of the quad up, thus creating a decrease in control.

I put a 4" long cut in my right fender when my quad got away from me and rolled into a wire fence. I just took a box cutter and sliced it off. It looks better and different than stock.

killer250R,
Di you just start cutting or did you measure and draw a line. Then cut along the line. If not i saw in a dirtwheels mag a few months back how to cut 400 EX plastic right. It was step by step instructions. If your fenders can be saved and you want those steps tell me and ill try and get them to you. R.R.

Well I drew a line and measured and then I cut them with my hacksaw with a fine tooth blade but the lines didnt come out real good. They are wavy, I think I can save um by hitting the sides with a hand planer. Relic Racer please do tell me the directions, You can E-mail them to me @ offtheblikka@aol.com or just post it in here, Thanks !!!! Zeebo.
