Hey everyone, at practice Wed. night I cracked my left case half just below the shifter. I'm only looking for something that will get me through 2 five minute motos! It will not be ridden anymore than 30 minutes on this. Should I go over it with JB Weld and let it sit, then put silicon around it, or just leave it JB Welded? It looks to me like the silicon would help lock it in. I am going to take the motor down next thursday, and have a friend of mine weld it up. He did it on his 300EX and it held for 3 years, so I figure it will last until this racing season is done.

PS 250R'S are by far the best MX bike..Wednesday was the 1st time I got mine on a track... 3rd time to ride it.. and I was going faster than I ever have on my Banshee.

Well nevermind. I just looked at it some more. The crack goes all the way around the shifter and all the way back to the back of the case. Looks like I get to buy a new one this winter!!

JB weld is great stuff...since your getting a new case you might as well try it, you have nothing to lose. i put a big hole in the case of my lt. put some jb weld on it and it was good as new.

lonestarbanshee, give it a try like juggalo said. I've used JB weld on a 300EX I used to have, but it still leaked alittle. I also used QuickSteel on the 250X I used to have (I know, should have learned my lesson the first time) It was supposed to be better than JB, but I had to do it twice to make it hold. Both of my jobs were small ones but what the heck, it cant hurt. I haven't tried the silicon.

Well, the place that it's cracked makes it really hard to get to. I had to take my nerfs and my shifter off just to see where the crack stopped. The race is tonight, so I will just watch. May take the Banshee and try to sell it.. I guess I will just tear the motor down this week, and have a guy weld it up. It's no biggie! Thanks for the reply guys!
