Which has a more exciting engine? 300EX OR BLASTER

I agree with them. Although you can't beat the ability to do a wheelie on the 300EX. All that torque the front end just lofts right over for anything. I have actually had 4th gear wheelies going on it. And yes for those who may ask, I have ridden a blaster so this is not an assumption. I liked the Blaster actually except it was a little to small for me.

I've owned both and I'd definately take the 300ex over the blaster. I think the blaster is faster, however, and also much easier to get power from mods (pipe, reeds, etc.). The 300ex is awesome for wheelies and handles better. More reliable too. Right now personally I'm at a point where I'll take reliability over performance. Tired of doing repairs and rather be out riding instead.

Honestly I bought my 99 300ex .. it is the biggest POS ever. I've owned it for almost 2 years and i have maybe 4 months of riding in on it.
The motor went for no aparent reason this winter, the rear bearings went 3 times, and its been in the shop for the past month because the damn thing won't start.
I totally regret buying it.. but hell every model has its lemon.
Once i get it running again I'm upgrading to a 400ex , which is alot more solid and handles 100 times better due to it having a wider stance.
As for wheelies i have gotten my 300 up in 5th a few times, I just put my knee on the seat and gun it and it usally comes right up for me.
I'm running stock gearing with 22" bearclaw tires.
I have ridden a blaster, I didn't really like the feel of it .. I'm just used to the smooth power of a 4-stroke.
I have raced my ex a few times in local fair events against banshees, 250r, you name it.
The first race i came 5th out of 19 and my second I came 12 out of 24. There were a few blasters in my races but they didn't do all too well because they were way too narrow to get around the turns as fast as i could on my 300ex.
I just thought i would share that little bit of info with you people.

I have an 01 300EX here.. and it just got a new pair of 20" turf tamers. It used to have 22" super swampers on it.. but anyways..
I have only ridden the EX for about 2 weeks. I can pull the front end up in 1st gear, and wheelie it until I hit our fence(400 yards easily). Through this distance, I hit 5th gear, and keep going. The EX feels slow to me though.(maybe it's me.. maybe it's the 250R) It jumps really good too. I have a 20ft double here, and it's smooth everytime! The EX has works performance shocks on it though. For some reason, mine won't idle with the gas ON, but with it on RESERVE, it idles just fine!
I suggest the EX, it has pulled the holeshot on a few blasters in its time. I rode a blaster the other day.... .I don't know how the guy rides it... it was SLOOOOWWWW! It might've needed a rebuild though..

I would usually recommend the EX, but There is supposed to be a new cylinder coming out from CT racing for the blaster that is supposed to pound out 40 ponies! that's enough to kill a raptor! the cylinder is all custom and totally redesigned with CR250 parts. you'd be best to extend your width 4 inches and extend your swing arm as well. in the end the cylinder is going to be around 1000 bucks.

The Blaster engine is certainly more exciting, but just like ex_master got a lemon 300 we really got a LEMON BLASTER! All the welds on the swingarm are cracked. The hanger for the exhaust pipe broke off last week and the transmission has been overhauled twice. The 300 on the other hand just keeps going on and on without a problem of any kind!
