Are these good mods?
#1
I was looking into getting some mods put on my 2001 300ex. It already has a K'N filter, bandit xc's all around, shockwears, to cover the works shocks, 14 and 39 tooth sprockets, DID 520-x chain, and dg bumper, grab bar, and nerf bars. Now my 300ex needs some power to keep up with my friends 400ex, and to show my friend that his little blaster can't beat a 300. I was looking to put a FST 330 kit in it, rev box mod, either white bros or big gun complete exhaust, jet kit, and a new stronger clutch, will this be enough to run with the 400ex?

Seems like you are going to a lot of effort and expense to turn a 300 into a 400. If you are strictly a trail rider this might make sense, but if you're riding in open country, for less money you could have just started with a 400!

I ride tight wooded trails, not in open country, plus I'd rather have reverse incase you get caught in some deep mud or at the edge of a cliff. Plus I already have invested enough money into the 300 and dont feel like starting over with a 400.

The 400 is a GOOD trail bike, but the 300 is the BEST trail bike. The 300's smaller size makes it more agile than the 400. I would say stick with the 300. One of the mags had an article on a 330 that would beat a stock 400.
