I asked this question and you guys answered.
One of my riding buddies rides a 300ex and because he is a computer illiterate, he asked me to post these questions.
Can anyone give a comprehensive "how to" on:
1. Removing the reverse rev limiter...
2. Bypassing the pushbutton on the clutch lever assembly before you can engage reverse...
He took the advice you guys gave, and said it worked perfectly, and not having the revlimmiter in reverse has already helped him out of a tough spot...
Thanks guys :-)

Now if I could get Killer250R to invest in the stock market with his vast knowledge he would make a killing and would retire by the time he is 40 and ride off on his restored 1989 250R. Hey, it could happen. Chet

Well JPBRaptor since no one has even bothered to answered your question already I will. I unhooked my rev limiter and it no longer sputters in reverse and also I've never hit it in any forward gear since. I persoanlly think that this either raises it or completely removes it. If your friend is stil hitting it he will have to send the CDI box off to get it removed. Now on how to bypass the button. If you follow the cable from the button on the lever you will see it leads into the right case. Since I have had this sidecase off I know what it does. All it does it pull rod out and makes it possible for you to pull the reverse lever beside your leg. To bypass this follow the cable down to where it leads into the case and pull it back as if the button was pushed and the clutch lever pulled back. Now you can cut the cable and get some black tape and wrap it tightly around the frame so its pulled back. With this setup i've heard that if your in a forward gear and you pull the reverse lever by your leg it will destroy your transmission but I don't think this is possible. If you put the bike in forward gear and pull the button in on the handlebars and then the lever by the foot it doesn't do anything. Also if the switch on the clutch perch has gone out and you have to have it in neutral to start cut the 2 green wires and then connect them. This makes it possible to start without the clutch pulled in. Hope I helped. Let me know if theres anything else.

Sorry about the confusion bermbanger, the guys did answer my questions over a week ago. I started a new thread so it would be on the first page so the guys I thanked would be sure to see it. I don't frequent the Honda forum, so it took me a while to get back here, and when I finally did my original post was burried several pages deep. Thanks to everyone for the help, I hope some day a question is asked that I have the answer to
