With the recent events of the past month and a half, I'm sure you're all aware of the various bills which are trying to be pushed through Congress at the moment. One of them is the Security Systems Standards and Certification Act, which aims to force every personal computer user to have Government-approved "PoliceWare" built-into their systems, which would monitor your activity and restrict use of un-authorized (copyrighted) material, such as MP3's. Disabling or simply refusing to run this PoliceWare would result in hefty fines and possible jail time...
