RECON QUESTION

Ya try using a higher octane gas.
Also you may have excess carbon build up which actually raises the compression ive heard many ways to rid of it without tearing into the engine.
Most of the people ive heard talk about there engine knocking imagine it after reading about it somwhere

The sound that you hear is coming from the pushrods. Jeffman is right, it is normal. Nearly every customer who bought one brought them back the next week saying they heard sounds. I haven't seen one come in the shop yet with damage due from it. A few owners of Ranchers and Foremans have said the same thing.{they are also pushrod engines}

I will never forget one of my neighbors who was thinking about buying a used 97 Recon that had been run very hard. He said it had that ticking sound because the valves had been floated. I said no it makes that sound because it has pushrods. Chet
