$150 is not bad for pipe. As for the power increase, you will pick up about 1 to 2 HP max horsepower but depending on the pipe you will get up to a 5 HP gain in the lower and mid range, prefect for your rancher.

The pipe will change alot!
Some even say it changes the hole bike.
My suggestion, get a pipe first. A $150 pipe, I'll pass, It's probably loud and anoying.
Some will say louder the more power "wrong".
The rancher is a woods bike, and the pipes sound good, but in the woods they are just so damn loud. Make a good search for a pipe and ask what you want. Just about all will have a good throaty sound to them, but some damn thier loud.
After the pipe save up and get a K&N power up kit, this will ad to the throttle response that the pipe had already gave you.
Expect about a $300 to $350 price for pipe and power up kit.
Also you don't have a 400ex, don't try to build one out of a rancher.
The rancher is a fine machine and will work real nice and reliable with these after market add ons

Pro circuit all the way. They make the best pipes out of those. Heres the way i see it. Every single Pro 250 SX this year was won on a Pro-Circuit pipe. That says something about their quality. Go for the T4.

I dont think you can get a t-4 for a rancher, but on a 400 there kinda loud, not good for ridin where houses are, not good at all! but not bad for woods and stuff. FMF is good, but i'd definatly get the supertrapp!

NONE of the guys running the SX circuit run STOCK Pro Circuit pipes. Not even Team Pro Circuit. They are refered to as "Works" pipes. Just don't confuse "Works" pipes the pro's use with "Works" pipes that you buy out of a catalog.
