I just ordered a White Bros. E-series pipe(just the silencer, took peoples advice to leave stock header) K&N filter and jet kit. I believe the pipe comes with 6-discs(not sure, correct me if i'm wrong). I ordered another 6-extra discs to make 12 total. 12 is what "dirt wheels magazine" used to do the pipe test on the 400's in a issue a few months back. They said it was the best pipe out of a bunch they tested. Anyway, I do plan on running with no air box lid. My question is: Will this give me the LOW END & mid range I"m looking for? My 1992 Warrior has better low end than my 400 I find myself riding in first gear ALL the time now because second does not have any power down low where I need it. I"m very satisfied with the top end on my bike since I don't ride very fast and only ride in trails etc. If 12 discs is not correct, how hany discs should I be using?? I can't really find ANY info. on the disc systems on the the e-series pipes and how they work, or how many you should have, or what exactly they do????????? I hope anybody with knowledge and experience with the e-series reads this and helps me out. PLEASE HELP! Thanks

Also, I posted this same message in the "416 review" post and I"m sorry for not answering his question. I should have just made my own post with this question.

The reason why your warrior has less of a hard time pickingh up 2nd gear is because it's a 6speed tranny with closer ration than the 400ex.....

If youre the kinda guy that never uses 4th and 5th gear.... the best/cheapest mod you can get is a smaller front sporket.... only about 10$ and will give you better gearing....

A more expensive mod would be a 440 kit.... I bet you your low end wont mind the extra 40cc's

IMO pipes and filters dont do much for performance on a quad with everything else stock.... my friend has the same year 400 as me and a yosimura full system and a jet kit. His 400 is slower than my stock 400 even thou I weight 40 pounds more than him....

I just put the same system on my 400ex. I talked to White Brothers they said to leave it alone they said the pipe works best with 12 discs that is how many the pipe comes with who ever told you 6 made a mistake. Also I found a big difference with the pipe and jet kit. I play things safe so I run with the lid on but I did put in 10 filter plugs in the top of the air box, keep the K&N filter clean and the outerware I clean mine after every dust day of riding. I also re-jetted to 165 I live in NJ. Good Luck (When putting the pipe on you have to take a rubber gasket out of your old pipe it is inside the connection you then have to put it inside the white brothers pipe, but it doesn't fit. so take it and put it over the connection then I used my old clamp the white brothers one stincks and covered the gasket where the head pipe meets the silencer and tighten it up. It is not easy getting the gasket out it is just a pain. I called White Brothers and they said that is fine the way I did it. In the directions it doesn't mention about the gasket. Reach out to me if you have any questions. Call White brothers they are very helpful.

I love them !!!! they take so much abuse and only have surface scraches on them .... The installation was easy on my mine pretty much srtaight forward.... lemme give you some tips....

Put all the bolts lossesly before yopu thighten ANY of them.... I started tightening them all the way as I was putting them the other ones would not fit but my putting them all on there loosely it makes it easier....

And when you tighten them the plate is gonna bend but dont worry about that
it's normal....

sorry if this is off-topic...

The 6 discs will give you more bottom end. I also have a wb on my warrior along with alot more engine and chassis mods, i took out all my discs and installed the end cap to do a experiment. It totally hauled on top. My bottom end suffered so i put my discs back in. I think the extra discs will just help you on top. I like power on top and bottom but the loss at bottom wasnt worth the extra top.

Holty, I also had that same set up on my ex with six discs and it worked great but you must also fit a white bros rev box , this made a huge differance in that the motor could rev free and felt very strong, you will be surprised with the differance.
