First of all If you want to kow if would be right for you im going to need more information. What kind of riding do you do , trails , sand ect. Are you going to race it? If not are you going to jump it? How much do you wiegh? The 300ex is a pretty good all around machine.

For the clutch. The shift pattern on it is 1-N-2-3-4-5. You start the bike in neutral then pull in the clutch and press the shift lever down with your foot. That puts you in first. The you rev the motor a little bit then let out the clutch , but dont just dump it.That will make ya move. When you shift from gear to gear (1st - 2nd , 2nd-3rd...) you let of the gas pull in the clutch , shift up and then let out the gas and the clutch simutaineously. <-- cant spell. There pretty easy to get used to.

I weigh 140 lbs and plan to do a little jumping but not high. Can you also tell me how to ride without doing an wheelie?

Yeah, dude the only tricky thing about useing a clutch is when you get outta neutral into first gear, you have to easily let off the clutch
and then apply some throttle but not too much or you'll do a backflip.
But once you get outta first then just pull in the clutch when you shift gears. And about not doing a wheelie try leaning over the front end of your fourwheeler some and that'll keep the front end down.

if you are still a little worried about the clutch you can also look into the 250 EX. Great bike and almost as fast as the 300. But I think clutches are funner to drive.
