my friend honda 445ex has a 300ex and when i want to do a wheelie i stop in 1st gear, then i put my knee on the seat and my foot inbetween the grabbar, next i let out on the clutch kinda fast and punch the throttle to get it to the balance point, after this shift into 2nd, after you get good enough to do this in one good motion you can ride a nice long wheelie. i like this technique because you can see where you are going and if you go too far you can catch the quad.

yes. thats whats known as a ***** wheelie. their actually good to start out doing cuz it gets you used to the feeling of being tipped back. if your worried about seeing just stand up when your doin a normal wheelie.

Don't put your knee on the seat to do the wheelie... Possibilty that your foot might get stuck under the quad if you wheelie too high. Then you'll have a broken ankle/foot/leg.

You're better off just sitting in your seat to do the wheelie. If the quad starts to come back too far, just tap your rear brake and that will set the front end down quickly.

After reading some f your BEST posts I think for you to wheelie YOU should stand in front of the quad tach it out, and then dump the clutch, it will wheelie and for a brief split secon you will see the under side of a 00ex , then you will see yourself in a hospilal bed. good luck.

I've found out that if you dump the clutch when you are a beginner trying to pop a wheelie, you will most likely land on you back. The quad comes up way too fast that way. Put the quad in first gear and get going at about 1/4 throttle or just above idle, then gas it, not to hard, but enough to get the front end off the ground. It is much easier (and safer) this way.

First pull in the clutch
Give it a little gas
Let go of the clutch and ride

Me and my friend did some awesome wheelies on his 300 ex. Good luck, you will love it.

yamahagye's right, being a beginner and dumping the clutch is gonna put you on your back. Just get going in 1st or second gear, then blip the throttle enough to get the wheels off the ground, then when they come back down and make contact with the ground, gas it again this time using about half throttle, this will bounce the front end up and makes it easy to find the balance point.
