I currently have a 300 4x2, with blackwaters, i am in the market for a new quad, i am looking at either getting a 450s or waiting on the rancher s, i ride a lot of tough trails, a great deal of mud flats that has some sticky mud, i am for sure getting a 4x4, i am 6'2 and weigh 155, so i was wondering if the rancher would give me enough power to keep up, i have driven my brother's 450s, it has a lot of torque, but we raced his 450 against my 300 and i could keep up over a tenth mile stretch, and could pass on longer runs, so which quad is right for me, i would appreciate any responses, thank

If you want a quad for mud get the 450. Put some 27 inch vamps or claws on it and you are ready to go. I have a 300 and like it alot but if i could trade it in for a bigger engine I would. I have 24 and 25 inch vamps about the biggest a 300 engine can handle, but I wish I had 27X12-12's all around. So get the 450 and the vamp kit and go far it!!!

I like my silverado, it is a reg cab two wheel drive with the 5.3, i like it a great deal, i use it to pull a fishing boat, or trailer full of honda fourwheelers, it has plenty of power, i also installed a programmer and flowmaster muffler for added performance, so to answer your question i like it. thanks for wondering.

Might as well wait on the Rubicon and put 28" Vampires with aluminum billet wheels and a Highlifter lift kit and a Warn 2500 winch.

28" Vampires? I hope this is not a miss print. I would love to put some 28s on my cat. If this isn't a miss print were did you here this from?

I'm not much into 4 wheel drives but my best advice would be to get the new Rubicon.( if you got enough$$). This new quad will be like the other hondas, but with a lot more power and bigger suspension. Also, the option of automatic. I think Honda will kick _ss with this new 4-valved monster!!!!!!!

If you wanted to spend cash and wait, then the Rubicon is gonna be the shiznit to get. If not, which is very understandable, the 450s would be my choice. I saw the rancher and though it looked as solid as any honda, it wasn't really that big. Just a bigger recon really. I didn't like the rear rack on it either. The seat is small like the recon's as well. Your 2wd 300 will run with a 450 all day. The 4wd 300 however, will not. The 4wd really slows the 300 down. My 89 2wd 300 honda will keep up with my 500 AC real good. Not as fast, but not much slower. I'm confident that I can outrun a 450 any day, but thats not important, I've never tried it, and I don't really care about it either. In other words, I'm not bragging on my quad, just making comparisons with a 300 2wd and a 450. The 2wd rancher would run with the 450's all day as well, but the 4wd version might be a little slower. It might not too. Don't know seeing that its brand new and I haven't ridden one. All out though, the 450 seems sturdier and better built than the rancher, but it should be seeing that its the current flagship of Honda. Basically, its just which one you like best when you ride it.
