I have a 01 Recon and I recently bent the axle by jumping. I checked each rim and I am sure it is the axle. Can anyone give me any info on how to pull it out. And if I should replace it or try to have it straightend. Also does anyone know how much $ they run. All comments and info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Ryan

hey hogmaster i never have pulled out a recons axle so i really cant tell u how to do it but for the straightning part it depends how much it is bent. i bent the stock axle on my 300ex and i strightend it and it made it alot weaker and finnally i bent it again. strighting an axle is only a temporary fix and it will more than likely happen again so y not do it right the first time and the cheapest axle ur gonna find is a stock one.

hogmaster, sorry, can't help you out on this one. I saw your other post, and decided to try though. You can probably take it to your local machine shop and have them straighten it, but as far as getting it out, the Recons shaft driven, and I don't jack with those. Sorry, but good luck

A new axle from Honda is only $90 (Parts Fish) so I wouldn't bother trying to straighten the old one. And while you're at it why don't you get yourself a genuine Honda service manual (around $35)? If it saves you from taking your quad to the dealer just once it's paid for itself!

Hope this helps,

Thank You for the replies guys. I think I will go with a new one but 90$ sounds to cheap. I will look into it today.

Again Thank you
