advice on 4x4 tires for honda 300 4x4
#13
Yes 25 in front and 25 in back on a 300 4x4 will suprise you when
you find out how much it costs to repair the tranny when you fry it.
There is a reason why the stock tires are 1 inch difference between
the fronts and rears.

I'd reccomend Bear Claws, great all round tire, decent mudding, great trail tire, 4 ply, decent price. For a larger machine I reccomend Blackwater XT's. Really good mid tire, but still sensable on hard pack as opposed to the bumpy ride of vampires.

Actually, all the new Bearclaws that are now being sold are all 6ply. If you get a 4ply one, it is from old stock someone has. Since Jan 2002, all Bearclaws have been 6ply. They are still the same price though.

Does anybody run GBC Gators? They are supposed to be 6ply and a really good tire. Supposedly they last longer than MudBugs and are a smoother running tire on hard pack. I think that it may be the tire I go with on my new quad.
