i've decided to buy the 400EX. I heard alot about screws falling out and some other things to look for on the EX to get more HP. i also want to know how fuel efficient they are since i had a honda 200SX AND WHEN we went on 3 day trail rides in the mountains i could run my the whole 3 days and not need to gas up more then once and i wanna know how much better the 400EX will do, i also want to know how much better it will stand up to abuse since my 200SX went to hell and came back since i totaled it and after 6 years of owning it it the engine ran fine and i just had no lights so i slapped a hallogen light to it and the brakes went out so i learnded to compromise and use reverse as my brake <hehe>, I'm really looking foward to my EX getting here and i want to know how to break it in so i can show up my friends' warriors

I have the TRX200SX along with the XR400 bike (same engine as your EX) and rest easy knowing that the 400EX's engine is just as strong as the 200SX.I have many friends who ride 400EX's The fuel milage wont be as great though..but I can ride my XR400 all weekend without refueling: My friends 400EX chew's up a tad more fuel than my XR though.. but ya wont have a prob. Break in your EX by mild rideing without over-reving it or lugging it. about 1 tank of fuel and you can rev it up to get to a shift point but dont keep it there..wate for 5 tanks until you open it up agenst your friends The 400EX is a great machine!

I had a '99 Warrior and my friend still rides a Warrior. As far you leaving your friends behind, you better believe it. I have raced my buddy with my 400ex. It was a sand drag, both of us had the same paddle tires. Half way down the track I looked back and wondered when he was going to take off. I found out he had. No comparison, not even a smiddgen. I raced my other buddy on his blaster, same results. I left the gates wondering where he was. The 400ex is a strange beast because it dosn't feel like it is doing all that much, but line up with some Warriors and you'll see for yourself.

I have a speedometer rigged up on my 400ex and it is dead on accurate ,I checked it with my gps. On a full tank I get about 70-75 miles before I hit the reserve that's about 35 mpg depending on how hard you ride

i've heard that the EX goes 64mph... is this about correct but it doesnt sound right... my friend said he got his warrior to do about 68 and that seem like he kinda fell off the shrimp boat.
