I am not bashing Honda as I am on my second one and would buy another without hesitation but am I the only one who has trouble with the plastic fasteners that hold the body plastic together popping out?

Is there a cure to this problem, a different type fastener or something?

I don't think there are other replacements. They are designed to give before the fender cracks. Nice idea, but they do seem to pop pretty easy. Buy a package of them and get used to it.

I agree, the rancher is a very nice quad.

My friend has a foreman and those things pop out all the time. THere supposed to do that, he just keeps on buying new ones every so often. I wouldn't put a bolt in it or else you will probably crack the plastic.

i found if you put a thin metal washer on the back side of the fastner they won't pop so easy. you may have to drill the holes out a little because you want the hole in the washer to be a hair smaller that the hole in the plastic body. i found this to be very effective in keeping the body together. hope this help you a little. later - dana

Your local Auto Zone carries an assortment of these fasteners in various sizes at a fraction of what you will pay at the Honda dealer. I recently bought one there for my'92 TRX 300. I found one that screws in tight rather than a simple push-in type.
