On a stock 400EX when you buy it from a dealership is it already filled with oil, brake fluid, chain lubricated ect ect? How often do you oil your chain and put oil in the quad? How often do you put in brake fluid?

Of course it comes with all that.

You should change the oil atleast once a month, and brake fluid whenever it goes below the full mark. The Chain should be lubed after every ride or so.

The same oil lubes the tranny, clutch and engine.

yes, change it! the general idea here is to take out old dirty oil and replace with fresh new oil...

look in the book they gave you with the quad. the info should be there. change the oil filter at the same time. you will need a set of Metric sockets or wrenches.

it's pretty easy, drain oil (2 places! - see book), replace those bolts, take out oil filter put in new (do not lose the spring inside there), replace cover and bolts, put petroleum based oil back in for now since the quad is still new. You can use synthetic later when the motor is broken in/seated.

need to clean and oil your air filter too. At the Honda dealer you can pick up a kit that has air filter cleaner and spray oil for about $15. the air filter is under your seat. know how to get to it? if you ride in dusty areas clean it more often. I usually ride sand and mine stays pretty clean.
