How is this ATV compared to other mid size ATV's (polaris sportsman, yamaha kodiac, kawaski prarie)? How is the new TraxLox? Does anyone know the top speed?

Forget about top speed if you are thinking Foreman, good all round maintenance free ( a hell of a lot less than Polaris!) machine. You can have all the fun and still use it to do a few chores but if it is speed you are after, keep looking. You can get a lot of faster machines for the money, but if you are into the bush not just fire roads etc, you should be happy.

The new Foreman 450s should be the fastest ever when in 2wd. My 98 450S runs a little better than 50 at 5000' elev with fulltime 4wd and 26" Dirt Devils. That's pretty fast on a utility quad with high center of gravity. How important is top speed to you? The foreman can tow, work, and is probably the most reliable atv, period. Even on fire roads, I don't go much faster than 40 mph on it. Got no reason to. Good luck, the Foreman is a sweet ride.

Have never had it wide open but it is no speed demon. I also have a big Po 4x4 and they compare well except for the ride. The Foreman rides like a truck and the ground clearence is less, but so far neither have been a factor. One thing I think could be better is the brakes, they still use drum. All in all it is a great ride so far and anybody would enjoy it but as another poster says, if speed is what you want, keep looking. If you want reliability, very little maintenence, great 4 wheel drive system that will not let you down on the trail this machine is for you.

Default Honda Foreman 450 ES?

i've had no trouble out of my trax-loc...its fun going in the mud in 2wd then get stuck and flip the switch and it will amaze you. i've had my ride completly submerged for short periods and it is stock ...no snorkel or lift only 27" vampires and it seems to go any where you want to go. i am lookin for a deeper exhaust if any1 knows of a good 1.
