if im not mistaken, the power valve does not give you more power, all teh powervalve does is give you a smoother powerband. now i think on the ctpowervalve tehy use a pro-x head which allows for more coolant flow, this intern could make yoour engine run cooler and you may gain some power that way. now you can have your head ported and gain power taht way as well

A powervalve gives you more low-end power.

The PV does not give much more power but it does give MUCH smoother power, 'no hit'.
I say it is worth it! Check out CT's 350 PowerValve.

If you're just getting a 250R, I'd look into having your stock cylinder ported. The powervalve motors are ok, but you get much more bang for your buck with a simple OEM cylinder port (and done right, very big hp for a 250)

Stock 250R swingarms are useless. For MX the aluminum 88/89 swingarms break and the longer 86/87 steel swingarms are too long.

You need to get a better aftermarket carrier, the stock unit will fail in no time with a longer axle.
My LSR twin row carrier has help up great.
