Has anyone replaced their front wheel bearings with stronger aftermarket ones? If so can you post the manufacturer and part # please. Thanks

Having gone through a complete set(all 4 corners) I would be interested in a "beefier" bearing too. In my parts research, I did not find any alternative to the stock brng. Please keep me posted, if you do find something.
Thanks, Mike.

I have a buddy that works in a bearing shop. I called him with the Honda part # and had him check for a cross reference. He couldnt find a match that way. He then did a cross check with bearing measurements and found a match. It is a KOYO brand bearing and the part number is 60/322RS. He said I could buy them for around 8 dollars each. He says it is a perfect match. If your front bearing has failed then the inside shaft seal on the back of your brake backing plate has also either failed or has grass and debris in it. I am sure you know which one I mean. After having 1 bearing fail on my 99 450, because of the extremely muddy conditions I ride in, I made it a part of my regular maintainance to clean and grease this seal 2 times a year. Since then and thousands of miles more I have had no more problem. I also do the brake drum seals at the same time and I have little or no problem with those either.

BigRed450,
If you have no luck getting them, send me an e-mail. I would be happy to pick you up some and ship them!
Or better yet.... hand deliver, I would love to ride Canada sometime. Probably not before you need the bearings though. That will have to be in the future and when the weather gets a little better.
Good luck!

Would be Great to have you come up and ride with us Trailboss. We're only 35 miles north of the hwy 61 American/Canadian border. Lots of room to roam up here.... Let me know when you'd like to come up and will set things up....
Thanks for the offer on the bearings. I gave the part# to one of the club members who is a district salesman for SKF bearings and he is going to try and get them for me. If he can't get them I may take you up on the offer.. Thanks Again...

trailboss450,

I called Koyo of America (440-835-1000) and they said that the bearing with part number: 60/32 2RS is a different size. That bearing is this size: 32x58x13. The bearing for all current Hondas has a size of 30x54x24. The Honda size is according to the Honda parts diagrams. Have you acutally tried this bearing?

No I havent... I was relying on info from a friend at the bearing shop. Supposedly they measured it and did a cross match that way. BigRed450, if you see this and TexMud is right, send them back and I will return them. Either way ..dont send the money until you check. Sorry if they are wrong!
TexMud thanks for the heads up!

So did you send BigRed some? If so he can look at them and see. I went ahead and ordered the entire ball joint assembly today.
