No I never run 24x10x9 bearclaws, but I do have a set of 22x12x9 bearclaws on my 400ex. Man they are so sweeeeeeet !! I love them. They give me an extra 2 inches of ground clearence for when I'm riding the trails, which is all you need for getting over those pesky stumps and rocks. They hook up soooo much better in the mud and sand compared to the stock tires. But be carefull doing dough nuts on hard packed surfaces, cause when they hook up, they really hook up!!! if you want a look !! check out my pics.

I rode a 250r with those on it. Crazy power robbing tires. The 250 could handle them but if u boged at all you were stuck. I know a 400 is diffrent but i think that the power u lose would be better off on the ground them wasted in the tires. I guess it is all personal preference. I know they are big and bulky and they weigh alot so they take alot of power to turn. good luck

You would have to gear it down to compensate for the larger tires but you're right, the weight would suck up the power. I think if you want to put 24's on you 400ex you should have bought a Sport Utility, that is a lot of added strain on the clutch and transmission, not mention that your rear suspension will be totally off due to the extra weight and you might have some rubbing on your rear fenders when your suspension compresses.
I would verture to say 22 inch tires are the biggest you could go with on a 400ex without rendering the bike totally useless and/or destroying it.

trx250Rob, yes they can be dangerous, but only if you are doing a wheelie and go over backwards, because of the extra 2 inches of ground clearence the grab bar will not save you. Somthing to always to keep in mind. As far as weight , yes they do weigh more but with a 14 tooth sprocket it can and will turn them with no hesitation or problem. Also yes I do use them for everyday riding. The stock tires can't even begin to compare to these tires.
