i'm with lonestar, get ypu some pj1 cleaner and oil, some rubber gloves are good too.i spray the crap outta my filter then i work the oil in with my hands

 

what the hell are you using for oil? Gumbo? Soap and water works great for me everytime, and the filters get relubed with 80-90.

 

409 and water...I have a K&N flter with outerwears I clean it after every ride and its easy as 1,2,3....Spray it on, let set 5 min and rinse... sometimes I'll do it twice just to be sure....

 

I ussaully ride at st joe.Right now my bike is all apart though.It is getting a 330 kit.From ESR.So it will be a while before I go down there again.

I have never rode in hematite.My mom used to work at ABB out there though.Where is there to ride at?My buddy lives between hematite and hillsboro.So We can ride just about everywhere.

A good spot to ride is in st genieve.There is some pretty cool spots down by the river down there.I have like 600 acres to ride on.It isn't mine but I have permission.Whenever U get off 55 onto 67 look to your left and all those woods I can ride in.It can ride 4-ever.

I wash mine out with 100% mineral spirits. It's cheap and works excellent. After that, I use dish soap and warm water. I let it dry out overnight, then put it in a large plastic bag from the grocery store, spray the hell out of it with PJ1 foam filter oil, mush it around, then let it dry again, and install it.

 

heard about St. Genevive but never been there. is it cool to ride there? My brother in law used to live by where you ride there off 55.
he lived in a old white house down from the restaurant with the pink flamingo. house on right across from mobile home park. been a few years though.

 

ITs late and I didnt read all the posts... but I first use paint thinner (low flash point) to remove oil and greese then use dish soap and water to get the fine dust out.

ok, i ended up reading all the posts anyways. Looks to me some people are not OILing there filters as if you can clean them with just soap- somethings wrong.. Oil (tacky filter oil that is) is the only thing that will catch dust before it sandpapers your cylinder[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

Thats exactly what I thought. Tell that to Gumbo. If guys are just using soap and water than there is no way they are using either the right oil or enough of it.
