I argree the 400 is way better. Now don't get me wrong the 300 is still a nice quad. Its just needs some up grades to run with the pack better. Hey but sometimes smaller is better. My friend has a DS650 and i have a 250ex. He can beat me every where but the woods. I can do laps around him. The only thing that holds me back is because he's always getting stuck ever where.

ex master which is it going to be now you think the 300ex is a nice quad and what do you mean dont try and flame me? Another question why is the 300ex not worth making mods to take a look at exriders.com and go to 300ex pics i guess you shjould e mail all those people that made a kick A$$ quad and tell them there was no use of spending that much money? well cant wait to see what the people say when you e mail them this.i looked it up in dirt wheels my own recources and other sites and the 400EX goes 65 WITH OUT MODS the 300ex goes 58 WITH OUT MODS. Im sure with the 440 big bore it will beat the 300ex and alot of other quads but the 300ex is a BEGGINERS QUAD. WHICH MEANS IT RACES WITH LAKOTA'S, MOJAVES, BLASTERS, TRAIL BLAZER, 250EX'S, WARRIORS AND THE OCCASIONAL 400EX. STOP BLOWING STEAM AND LISTEN TO WHAT OTHERS SAY. ILL PUT IT IN ENGLISH FOR YOU THE 400EX GOES FASTER BUT THE 300EX HAS MANY OTHER EXTRAS THAT MAKE IT WORTH IT BUT IF YOU LIKE YOU CAN GIVE ME 5,699 DOLLARS FOR ME TO BUY A 400EX THANKS FOR YOU R TIME.

I'd take the 300ex just for the reverse. My buddy has a 400ex, it's pretty cool, but I think the 300ex is a good machine too. Who is anyone to try and convince someone that their opinion is wrong. If someone likes the 300ex more, so be it. If you don't race MX wtf? As far as top end goes, a 400ex can top out at 100, but where we ride it'll never see 55, only unless it's heading down a country road. I don't doubt for a second that a 300ex can keep up with a 400ex on the trails, especially if it's tight and technical. I ride with a 400ex and Raptor and have NO PROBS. keeping up with them. Straight line drags and country roads are another story , however we never ride them.

Is it better? For what? It is not necessary to compare these units unless you want to beleve that you somehow accidently stumbled on a secret that nobody knows about, and tell the world how crafty you are. We have all been there at one time or another. The moment you want to compare these machines as to whether one is better than the other, you are opening the doors of competition. That's what racing is all about - mine can beat yours - or I can go faster than you. From there its just politics - well mine is faster under these conditions, but yours is better under those conditions. Or you want to compare how smart you were to buy this model instead of that because it does what you want for less money. If it's perormance you want to know about - go look and see what the better racers use, and ask them why, - for MX, AC, TT etc. One day at the track should answer all your questions, and save you dropping your drawers on a public forum. Just trying to be helpful - not insulting - most of us have gone through a similar learning curve. All of these machine have their place and can be incredible fun. But unlike car racing which says: "want to go faster" - just bring money; MX racing says - "want to go faster" bring money, "want to go higher and farther"(and live to tell about it) bring a whole lot more money.
