My friend told me that a Split Fire spark plug will put pitts in your cylender. Is this true?

I think I had read somewhere that this was a problems they used to have due to cheap metal used in the electrodes but it has been addressed. I wouldn't waste my time though, it numerous tests the only performance gain was due to reduced weight. The reduced weight of your wallet.

I wouldnt buy those plugs from what ive heard on the forums there is no performance gain and they can cause your engine burn up.

I don't know if it will pit your cylinder, I do know that my bikes have run much better on NGK's than Splitfires

I have ran SplitFire and NGK's in my Shee since I've had it. Save your money, stick with NGK's. SplitFires, due to the dual electrode, will pit, or melt your piston.

i dont think it will pit or melt your piston but I have never noticed any performance gains when using splitfires. Use a NGK DR8ES gapped at .024 or .026

sorry but i just noticed you are from arizona you may want to go with a DR9ES this is a little colder plug it may be the choice if your bike tends to run hot.

a friend of mine races a drag car he installed splitfires once to see if they would help heres what happen after only 2 passes his car started missing so he pulled the plugs to find that about half the electrode was gone on several plugs. where'd it go ? who knows but im sure it went into his motor which is not good.he runs NOS so that may have been why they did it.all i know is after seeing that i stay away from them.
