#1
The results are back on the enviromental assessment. They are going to meet earlly next week to discuss the fate of the trail system. Alan Newman is the decision maker. He is the supervisor out of Hot Springs, AR. I need help letting him know how important it is to the ATV community that the trails are reopened. Please e-mail him with you request. Just ask him to do what he can to get it reopened soon.
His e-mail is anewman@fs.fed.us
Thanks,
Greg

gregsims, thanks for letting us all know. My friends and I all sent an email to that address, and I will probably call too.
This trail system is by far the best I've ever been to. Even if you don't ride there, help us southern guys out and shoot him an email.

People will wonder one day why they cannot ride on Public land. The lack of response to issues like this will be the reason. I posted this on 4 different sites in 6 different places, and you and walexa are the only ones that have taken the time to help out. I understend this does not affect someone that rides in the dunes of california directly, but in a way it affects all of us. the environmentalist are out to shut down all of our federal land. If we do not come together as a group, as the environmentalist have, we will lose.

gregsims, he replied to my email and said that he wasn't the person making the decision. He also said he would pass the information on to the "board" or whoever it may be.
What you say is true. Yes, maybe we are the only people on this forum to ride at Wolf Pen, but I know for d@mn sure I'd shoot someone an email for most any other person on this board. The way I see it is, someday we might run out of places like Wolf Pen, Glamis, the Badlands, Little Sahara, and all other public lands. It all has to start somewhere, and the more than bite the dust, the easier it will be for others to close their gates.
So how bout it guys? Take 60 seconds and send this guy an email. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, just tell him you'd like for the trails to stay open. This is quite possibly the most beautiful place I've seen in my life.
Thanks

David,
Al Newman forwarded your message concerning WPG to me and I wanted
you to know that I appreciate your interest and concern. We will be
meeting as a team of specialist next week to decide on the opening or
closing of WPG for the 2002 use season. I feel confident that we will be
able to keep at least part of the trail open during 2002. Please check
back with us later in the week or check the Ouachita NF web page.
Again, Thank You for your input.
Robert
That's the man to talk to right there. With a few more people to help us out, we could probably save this place!
