I fixed it, I don't have a neutral light and I was trying to crank it in gear.... Duh!
It cranks fine in neutral.
Can you tell I'm a newbie.... LOL


I bought a 1987 Honda TRX250 FourTrax 4 cycle used.
I took all the plastic off and steam cleaned the frame and painted it.
It will not crank ever since.
It ran good before that.
I took spark plug out and grounded it to frame while turning the engine over and I'm not getting any fire from the coil.
Does this model have any fuses other than the two up front in the small compartment?
Could it be the coil?

Knowing nothing about your ride, I'm shooting in the dark here, but it would appear that some part of your ignition system is grounded to the frame. When you painted it that part (coil?) has lost it's ground, and you'll need to sand off a little paint where it had been before painting.

Check all your wiring connections also.There's a chance you could have pulled a wire loose from steam cleaning it.

Hot_shoe_cv is probably right, make sure the ground is actually grounded (touching bare metal on the frame), so sand the paint off where you hook the ground to the frame.
