I AM LOOKIN TO ADD A AFETREMARKET PIPE TO MY 99 400EX. I WANT SOMETHING THAT IS LOUD AND GAIN ALOT OF POWER. WHAT WOULD BE THE BEST PIPE FOR BOTH OF THEM? I AM GOIN TO JUST GET A SLIP ON. IS THEIR ANY WAY SOME TIME IN THE FUTURE I CAN BYE THE HEAD PIPE? AND HOW MUCH POWER WILL JUST THE SLIP ON GIVE ME? THANX FOR YOUR HELP!!

Chris- You will find loads of good info on this subject in past posts. Search the archives. There is no clear cut winner. You will find lots of opinions.

I have the FMF Powercore IV on mine. It helped low and mid range. Not much help on the top end. Somewhat loud. Sorry I can't tell you that it is the best simply because I have no experience with those other brands like White/ Big Gun etc.

Most aftermarket pipes are pretty loud. I have the DMC dual and I'm very happy with it. It was kind of expensive but it really helped throughout power range. I know the BigGun actually looses low end torque, and it's the loudest pipe I've heard on a 400ex.
