First offf, I have a 300 honda 4x4 with 24X9-11 vamps in front and 25X12-11 vamps in the rear. I want to put a snorkel system kinda like the one on the 500 honda that highlifter built. Does anyone have the plans and a list of parts needed to make this system? Sometimes when in deep water it would be very useful. Ok another question...the rubicon is supposed to come out next august I think. What will the price be on it and how much do you guys think they would give me for a trade in with my 99 300 4x4 with vamps and maybe a snorkel system? I'm trying to see just about how much money I'm going to have to save to get the 500 rubicon. And those new 28'' vampires, do you think the 500 rubicon could handle them all around? Please reply soon. Thanks for your help.

Matt, I'd like to offer a comment, and perhaps some advice, on trading in your 1999 Honda 300 for a 2000 Rubicon.
Aftermarket tires, unless they look brand new, will generally reduce the retail value of your quad. Such tires indicate that the machine has been used harder than one with stock tires. The best trade-in value usually results from having the machine look as fresh, clean, and stock as possible.
Having the snorkel attached could totally ruin its retail value! If you install and use the snorkel system, be sure to erase all evidence of it before trade-in time!
You will almost always get more for your quad from an individual than from a dealer. Clean it up well, get it looking as close to new and original as you can, and then try selling it yourself before resorting to trade in.
In August I offered the local dealer my 1997 Kawasaki Prairie 400 4x4 as trade-in on a new Honda XR400R dirt bike. He wanted $2100 difference, breaking it down as $5400 for the bike, and allowing me $3300 for my Prairie. I just added $500 to his $3300 offer, and sold it to an individual for $3800. Then I went to another dealer and bought the XR400R for $4700.

Gordon,
I see what you are saying about the dealer thing. Wouldnt it be better to sell the 300 with all the add-ons if I sold it myself? Wouldnt people want more mud going ability? What do you expect the price of the 500 to be? I really want that 500 because it has MUCH more power than my 300. I have had nothing wrong with my 300 its just that I want something bigger and better! What do you think about all th etalk about the 28'' vampires? Do you think that the 500 rubicon could handle 4 of those? Reply ASAP. Thanks again!
