I had a Kerker on mine and my friend had a Supertrap on his. The Kerker made the bike easier to start and was much quieter and the performance felt the same. He bought my pipe off me when I sold the bike and his notoriously hard starting 200x became much easier to start after.
If you want more power, bump up the compression with a weisco piston (10.25 or 13:1) and get a web cam, they're really cheap. Chaparral used to sell a flat slide mikuni for the bike a few years ago, but I haven't checked to see if they still do. Other than that make sure your timing is good, those bikes can handle fairly aggressive static timing advance, but they become much harder to start, which is a concern if it's your girlfriend or kid's bike.

Both DG and Cobra still make pipes for the 200X as well as SuperTrapp.

The SuperTrapp was known for the best power increase on the 200X engine but is also the most expensive pipe. The 4" Race Series runs about 275.00

The Cobra's have a much larger head pipe than the DG or the SuperTrapp and is cheaper. The aluminum silencer version only costs about 120.00

You can use the cam from a 1986-up XR200 for more mid-to-top power.

Using the '86-up XR piston will give you 10:1 compression ratio versus the stock 9.6:1 .....Wiseco also makes a piston kit with 10.25:1 compression. Use it if you want a forged piston,..and go with the Honda if you prefer cast and "factory" reliability.

Use the carburetor from the '86-up XR200. It's 26mm. The 200X was 24mm

If you use this carburetor, you will need a '80-'84XR200[Non-R] intake manifold to match the new carburetor. This one has a larger inside diameter than the 200X. Honda part# 16210-446-000 This older XR intake will allow the late model XR carburetor to mount in the stock location. The '86-up intake will not work.

I know you didn't ask for this info., but I kept notes back in the day and you said you wanted more power. Curtis Sparks still had a few hop parts left available a couple of years ago. I don't know what he has left or if he still stocks them, but you might want to give him a call. Afterall, he was the fastest 4 stroke ATC rider that ever lived.
