250x berings
#1
How do I stop the axle berings from ging out on my 250x. When the first set went out it ruined the carrier too. This time I caught it sooner and I want to know how to fix it right so it wont do it agian. Also, what's the difference between a double row bering carrier and a tapered one other than $30????

The reason that the bearing wear out are for a few reason,.
1. stop riding in the water and mud
2. don't ride the 250X so much
3. bearing don't last forever
4. get a set of nerf bars(every time the rear wheel hits a tree or something that causes wear on the bearing.
I am sure that you aren't going to follow the first 2 to stop the wear so keep an eye on them. I put a set of stock bearing in last July and I just replaced them last week. I get about 6 months of wear from stock bearing. The twin bearing will last just over a year for the type of riding and as much riding as I do. The twin bearing your can buy at the local auto parts store. They are the bearing in the GM AC units. There are 3 grades of them. I don't know much about the tapered bearing other than I have heard more bad than good about them. Each bearing will only work in there carrier, you cann't switch one bearing to the other carrier.
For what it cost s to get stock bearing it is cheaper and better to buy the twin bearing carrier if you have to pay full cost and then you can get the twin bearing cheaper yourself.
