I've been on both, have new Kodiak 4x4 training machines several times a year. But I just bought a rancher with foot shift. I like a mechanical shifter better than a belt or electronics. The rancher is more sporty, the Yammy is more of a utility machine. Ride both, then make up your own mind based on personal experience and preference. I doubt you'll regret either choice. Good luck.

It’s now 2024 and my 1987 bigbear 350 is STILL running great! only thing iv replaced is cdi box and routine maintenance of corse every year. so you can eat them words bro lol. Honda is good too but Yamaha is right there with them and maybe even better made. also Kawasaki is really good too but not many buy them in the US.
