Sometimes after a major mud ride my sifter buttons don`t catch on the first push. It usually works itself out.

My 00 450ES stopped electronically shifting after I parked it in 2nd gear. Only 1st & 5th would show on the indicator even though it shifted flawlessly with the manual shift. all fuses are good. The dealer-service did not find the defect yet. Any ideas? Also any ideas on a better manual shift lever.

HAVE YOU TRIED DISCONECTING THE BATTERY FOR ABOUT 10 MIN TO DRAIN THE SYSTEM?

On my 98 es i have to shut it off in neutral because sometimes the computer can't find the gears when i try to start it back up, i end up using the manual shifter and have to rock the bike to find neutral again, The dealer was no help at all, anyone else have this problem ? I'm thinking of wiring mine to start in any gear otherwise if you accidently kill the engine in a mudhole you're hosed.

My 00 450ES is working well per dealer . I did have the battery disconnected anyway. How do you wire the starter to start in gear?

Cortez when you say after you parked it do you mean you tryed shifting it from second to fifth parked? If so thats normal. If not have you transported your Foreman on the back of your pickup in gear any time? If so you may have misaligned something or bent shift forks. Also when adjusting clutch remember to try it right away it's easy to get it to tight and harder to shift. I'm very happy to know that not to many people replied I was thinking there would be alot of people complaining about there machine not shifting. The magazines have said this and I am not calling them liars but a new machine has a breakin period of course and I feel the clutchs are a little tight when new. I now from experience of adjusting clutches in mine and had problems shifting, adjust back out a little no problem. Well I hope and wish you all good luck with yours. Love mine but think I'll trade for Rubicon if it has better top end power.
