I think Cycle Country has a plow/adaptor for the Recon. I don't know which pipe is best, I have a Supertrapp IDS on mine. Easy installation, nice appearance. I still have to get some riding time in on it to get the jetting 100%, but so far there seems to be a nice power increase.

How loud or should I say quieter is the SuperTrapp IDS pipe compared to the Recon's stock pipe. I am also considering getting a SuperTrapp for my Recon, and I was also wondering has it added any noticable power to the Recon and where, ie., top end, bottom end, or mid range?

The noise is adjustable by how many discs are used. If you use all 12 discs (as I have) you have the most noise, which is noticably more than stock. The more discs you use, the higher in the RPM range the power increase will be seen. If you use the least amount of discs recommended (4?)you will have approximately the equivalent of the stock pipe. Keep in mind, that if you add a pipe which increases exhaust flow, you also MUST rejet your carb to suit. If you do not, excessively lean mixtures in the cylinder could cause engine damage. Some aftermarket companies market "kits" which supply pipe, filter and a selection of jets.
I bought the Highlifter kit for mine. Advantage: They have some dyno information to help guide your jet selection. Disadvantage: Highlifter is not the cheapest way to go, I subsequently have seen the same items as a package cheaper. Live and learn

I bought the pipe as part of a kit, so I am not sure of the exact price . Probably between $180-$230. It is a very nice installation, it probably took me a half hour or so, just a few tools needed.

I have a 98 Recon with a cycle country plow, hitch and a 1500 superwinch. I use the winch to raise and lower the plow, the switch it mounted on the plastic shroud on the handle bars. it works really really good in the winter and is much better than the manaul lift.
