Where can I find a 14 tooth front sprocket for my 400EX. I have seen on here and other sights where alot of people are runnin them for torque, is there anything that they can hurt on the 400's. What do u guys think about runnin one, should i do it, or would i be stupid to, I am all stock right now but I am orderin a pipe and power kit when the next paycheck comes in.....lol. Well tell me what all you can about this. Thanks

I ran a 14 for a very short time. It was great fun, but only for fooling around! You could pop the front end up with even the slightest blip of the throtle. Of course, it had tons of torque for hill climbs and I could get lots of height even off of little jumps. You will lose some top end speed.

BUT, out on the trail, it was just not practical!! The front end was off the ground at all the wrong times!! If I powered out of a corner, the front end would come off the ground, and there would be no steering control. On the other hand, sprockets are only about $20, so it's not a major expense to give it a try (you shouldn't have to shorten your chain). I got mine form White Bros.

They say 1 tooth change in front is equal to 3 teeth in back. Because I went to bigger tires (22" Holeshot XCTs), I wanted to gear down a little. So, my compromise was to go 1 tooth larger in back, but my chain was to short so I had to replace it, so that cost some money. And, rear sprockets are about $45.
