Do you wear gloves when you ride? I have Answer Stylus gloves that are just a little worn down and I'm beginning to wonder if the gloves give me more blisters than riding with out gloves. I'm only 16, and I have to find a job really soon before I lose my quad so I can't really afford new gloves right now. I don't think it's your quad though, it's prolly just your gloves.

Gloves make a big difference.
I bought a set of answer gloves about a year ago, and stopped wearing them after my 2nd ride, I kept getting blisters by the bottom of my fingers, (from the glove folding up in that area) I ended up usaing my old mountain bike gloves with padded palm area, they were the best gloves I ever had, they looked like crap though.

I finally found a new set of gloves that I like and they are made by olympia, they have a gel pad in the palm of the glove which helps absorb some of the shocks, and they dont blister my hands up at all.

Sometimes you have to go through a couple pair of gloves before you find something that will rid you of blisters.

If it helps, check out some mountain biking gloves (not cut gloves) and check out the olympia gloves. if you find them (the olympias)they have more palm padding then any glove on the market.

Oury thick grips help a lot but take a little to get use to.Also an anti-vibe steering stem will help.Steering stabilizer will help too.

i'm 31 and i race, and every year the first few rides or races of the year i get terrible blisters and such.the only thing that helps is soft bicycle bmx grips is what i use.get them at your local bike shop.
and put on a steering stabilizer, you will not believe the difference it makes.you 'll find that you won't have to hold on to the bars as tight as you normally would and you won't get nearly as much bumpsteer and thats why you have to hold on hard.

Once I put my steering stabilizer on I did not get my blisters as much. Now I hope anti-vibe stem will help with my hands and numbness after hard rides.(carpal tunnel)

TOO MUCH HORSEPOWER???????????

No such thing! (See definition)

Horsepower: If it doesn't scare you, you don't have enough

This analogy could be compared to: A woman too sexy
Having too much money in your bank account.
Having too much fun
etc. etc. etc.

I would recommend working out with a moderate weight training routine. I'm getting old (er) too, and lift weights often to be able to hang onto my monsters

Grips and gloves could make a big diff. also

If you ride for about 1 week everyday, whether it's a quad or bicycle, without gloves, chances are you won't get blisters again the rest of the season. When I'm not riding quads, I'm usually riding my BMX bike and after the first week of riding, my blisters go away and I don't get them anymore. Now, what do you guys do for arm-pump? I get it alot when it's cold out.

There are some really good grips made for Jet-skis. They are soft, but not foam. Combined with good gloves, I have never had a blister from riding. Good suspension is a must, Works or better front shocks. Maybe you are holding on tighter than you need to. Sometimes I have to remind myself to relax a little, and let the quad do the work. We ride 75 miles of hard, rough & fast mountain trails. I'm 47, riding a DS, my son is almost 14 and is starting to kick my butt on his Raptor. I had a chance to jump a 400EX last week, I must admit, they do fly well. I jump my DS a some, but it has to be a little jump for me to be in anything more than 2nd gear. The DS lands better than it flies, it is pretty big to be thinking it's a friggin Canary.
