Yeah, this was def. a flop. They have to be still trying to recover from the Rubicon. Sales have dropped alot! THey're loosing their loyal fans...things do not look good for Honda in 2003. I'm rating them 3rd right now in sales for the year.

I can't wait to see what the sport quad will be now. If the Rincon is as big of a flop as we're predicting though.....might be a long wait for a sport quad....

Are Honda's sale's dropping? I can see if sales are strong, there's no motivation to change the lineup. If sales are dropping, you'd think they'd have a bunch of new improvements this year. The formula is simple, give the customer what they want. That means switchable 2wd/4wd for every model, disk brakes, and lockable front diffs. I'd bet most of the R&D money went into the Rincon's tranny. I still think they should have kept the Rubicon's tranny and put the money into other things.

I'm dissappointed too. Im sure you wont be able to get one much below msrp for some time. No doubt it will be a nice machine but so are the others. 1200 bucks is about right Andy. Its not worth that much more to me. Ive been waiting to see what happens with Honda before I bought one but this isnt good news. Guess its time to buy a Prarie.

I love Honda and their reliability, and I think they will sell a bunch of those Rincons. Not to me, of course, but they will have enough, as has been said, "loyal Honda" people that will buy it. That's $1500 more than I paid for my Prairie 650. The looks in my opinion are terrible. Honda always made an awesome looking quad, this one is too futuristic looking. I do like the green one with the black wheels though somewhat better. Still won't get my business though.

I agree with most of what has been said here, kinda disappointing.

$7600.00 Who does honda think will buy this thing? not any one who looks at a Grizzly or a Prairie 650, why would i spend $1200 to 1500 more for something less?, no wonder honda is losing market to other companys, honda is not listening to there costomers, they will when we start buying something else, what a let down, Hay Honda give us a locking dif, more power, better brakes, then will i consider buying again. Ok, I just went back to the Rincon homepage and the video they have claims the Rincon has the Traxlok feature, but the specs neglect to mention that. All I can say is the video had better be right. I read a little closer in the specs and they say the Rincon has a rear disk brake,(???) and drums up front. I may have to reserve the right to change my opinion of this quad when we see it in the flesh. I still wouldn't pay a dime more for it than a Prairie, Grizzly, or Sportsmen. Well, maybe I'd go a little more than the Sportsmen.

"It's gonna be a flop" " I'm dissappointed."

WTF?!?!?!? No one has even thrown there leg acrossed it yet or even read a ride review in a rag and it is already a sales flop?????? I love it when someone passed judgement of a quad that they know absolutley NOTHING about. You may know the specs and MSRP......but what does that really tell you about a bike?

What does pictures, MSRP and Specs tell you?

1. I know what it looks like - Don't like it

2. I know ballpark what it's gonna cost - Doesn't compete with the other quads in that class. No one is gonna knock off $1500!! My guesstimate: good deals might be in the $7200-7300 range. Too expensive.

3. Specs are what you go on for performance. I didn't have the opportunity to line up a SP700, a grizzly and a P650 and test all of them head to head before making a purchase. I don't have a DYNO to compare HP numbers.

The Prairie feels like a Honda, ergonomically speaking, so I can't imagine the feel of the Rincon being much better. But I don't know that of course. Have to be awful comfy for $1500 more, even if it has the car-like tranny.

However, they will sell. It's a Honda, trust me, some people will buy it.

Oh yeah, I think Trax-Lok is what Honda calls the ability to switch between 2 wheel drive and 4 wheel drive, not a locking differential.

Actually guys, Honda's sales have only increased for many years. They are currently #1(in sales), and no one is even close to exceeding them. They know what they are doing, they know a helluvalot more about Sales and Marketing than 99.9999% of us. Just trust them, they will pull through- or you could quit complaining about the way the quads never get updates and get a MX Bike- something new every year(besides bold new graphics), or Cannondale... definately the way to go for a race/dune quad.
