No,an R isn't a bad beginner bike. Look at Robert106 for example!!!
His dad gave him one..........lucky son of a b!tch. And he loves it.
So when they say they are running 40:1 they are running 40 ounces of gas to 1 ounce of oil?? damn thats not alo at all in the tank if thats how it is.

Where are all the 250Rs at? ROBERT SELL ME YOURS!!!!!!

No, it's not 50 ounces to 1 ounce. If you understood more, you would see that was an example. It's 50 parts gas to 1 part oil, so if you had 5 gallons you would need 12.8 ounces of oil added to your gas to make a ratio of 50:1. guys, is the 12.8 ounces correct? I'm a little tired right now!

I forgot, check The Cycle Trader for R's in your area.

I understand now..........its parts....like you have to use the same unit of measure. like,40:1 would be 3 gallons of gas and 10 ounces of oil.

That "20:1" on the tank should be ignored.
Now, the figure your mix, just do the math.
One gallon = 128 ounces.
Five gallons = 640 ounces.

To mix at 32:1, divide 640 by 32 (640/32=20). So, take 5 gallons of gas and add 20 ounces of oil.

To mix at 50:1, divide 640 by 50 (640/50=12.8). So, take 5 gallons of gas and add 12.8 ounces of oil.

Buy a manual. You have one offered for $20. Buy it and read the thing. You're asking questions that could be answered just by casually flipping through it. Do some work yourself now.

2FUN, when you said (motor oil in the case) you do mean inside the bottle correct? i thought you only had to mix the gas and oil for the tank. And then lube he tranny with the dipstick thing.

Premix oil and gasoline goes into the tank.

Transmission oil or fourstroke engine oil[10W30..20W50..etc] goes into the transmission.

Yeah, what KNOWSALOT said.
2-stoke oil mixed with the gas goes into the tank.
Motor oil/tranny oil goes in the "dipstick thing" Otherwise known as the clutch case.
