2003 models
#1
What's the feeling on Honda changing the specifications for 2003 vs what's posted on the website. Ready to buy a 2002 Rancher but can't help but wonder if Honda showed the 2003's without change to move their 2002 stock. They do say specifications can change without notice. I wouldn't think that they would do this.

I would be surprised if anything changed. 2001, Honda ATV sales captured 32.7% of the market and their best selling ATV is the Rancher, why change it. I would think if they changed anything it would be the 400 and 450 (the 450 got "trax-lock" and Honda's new limited slip front differential) for 2003) Foremans. The others are of the "new design" and probably wont be changed for a bit. Just a guess.

I think they might get rid of some of the foreman models. They have to make way for the big sales linup including the Rincon, recon, redesigned rancher ,250 ex,300ex and some refinements to the 400ex.They may get rid of the manual utility bikes due to overwheleming popularity of the esp(electric shift program). That is what I think anyway.

There was a belief that Honda was going to "intergrate" the S and ES models of each machine into one this coming year, but it was just a rumor that prooved to be false.
They will have to do something though. For the last couplke of years, the dealers have been begging for LESS model variations because it is so hard to keep everything in their inventory.
Did you guys know that when you take into account two wheel drive/four wheel drive...different colors....and S and ES.. that there are 12 different variations of the Rancher alone!!!!
Something will happen, but when is anyone's guess.
