I remember within the last few months a few of you were talking about your misadjusted slides on your 400 EX's. They were adjusted from the factory where the slides would only open to the 3/4 position. How do you fix this? I've tried to find the past "Topic" but can't seem to find it to refer to. How good is YOUR memory? THANKS. :~)

mindcrime,
I didn't see the post you refer to, but at the cycle park I ride every week I 'm amazed at the number of throttles I twist that have a huge amount of slop in them...that's probably where you are finding a slide that does't raise completely. Check the play in your throttle, either twist or thumb. It should have just enough play to allow the bars to go full lock in either direction without increasing the RPMS. At that point your slide will open completely, barring some restriction in the carb.

I found what I was looking for. It was a note by 86atc250r posted on 09-11-99. It explains everything, thanks anyhow.
