I had my Honda dealership install a genuine Honda TraxLock. I got one of three test packages the dealership bought. It involves replacing the front pumpkin, the front shaft and adding a switch to the brake assembly on the right handle. They had to put a small 1/4" notch in the front frame cross member too. It took them about 2 hours as the axles had to be removed to get the pumpkin out. The parts carry the Honda 3 month warranty according to the dealership. Parts are for a Rancher....... .

Boys and Girls, I gotta tell you, this is Most Excellent. It's like having a Rubicon on steroids and I can grease any Rubicon or other 500 utility in the sand, on hard pack, doin doubles.....whatever. Better gas mileage, better top end. This is the way to go. I wanted Genuine Honda and it IS available.

That's good news. I have an 02 Rubicon and have ordered a Traxlock kit from Dirty Howies. I also ordered the factory switch from service Honda and already have received it. I also want the factory parts on my ATV. I have a couple questions:
How much did you pick up on the top end?
Is it easier to turn around when going slow?
How does it handle as far as slinging it sideways in turns at speed?
Will the Rubi pop a wheelie from a dead stop?

Thanks.

AirRubicon,
Can you give us part#s for the items you used. Sounds like a good setup. Do you have a price on what it cost you to do the whole job.

Thanks

Well Im thinking about that new 424 unlocker, It runs about $300, what is the price on the Traxlock, all said and done, and what does it pick up speed wise?

the Rubicon should have had this to begin with..., i hope this is
cheaper than trading for the new Rincon, I really like Honda's but its
time Honda woke up, If any one has the Honda part number or numbers
for the traxlock, i would greatly appreciate it if you could share it
with me,, I don't want to get the run around at the Honda dealership
thanks..

Just putting this topic back on top.

We all are waiting for some feedback on this. This would be great if it can be done (cheap).
