My guess would be the 250R if you want to match them up dollar for dollar. By this, I mean look at what $7000 in a 250R gets you. Bone stock, the Cannondale is a better quad. The problem with this type of question is there aren't any brand new 2002 250Rs available at your dealership for $6500 or so which is what they would cost based on inflation and there aren't any 16 year old Cannondales that have been used, abused, and rebuilt to see what they would cost in that condition. If you want new, get the Cannondale. If you want a project to fine tune to your needs but is 13-16 years old, get the R.

Cannondale!!!!!!!! Think about it, by the time you fix most of the porblems on an old quad, you're at $5000+ so why not get a NEW quad with warranty and all the cool **** on it. Not saying the R is a bad quad(cause in no way is it), but used quads and I don't get along anymore
